This weekend is set to be a scorcher, so gather your family and friends and make this long weekend one to remember! You’ll find ways to celebrate Canada all across the GTA and beyond with no shortage of ways to display you Canadian pride.


Mississauga

Celebration at Celebration Square

July 1st 2:00pm - 10:30pm

Cost: FREE

What to expect: With performances by a lineup of Canadian musicians including Magic! and Allie X on the main stage, face painting, poster making workshops, and a giant moose this will be an event to delight anyone and everyone! You’ll be able to take a Canadian Citizenship reaffirmation oath led by Mayor Bonnie Crombie, and end the day on a high note with a fireworks show.

Paint the Town Red in Port Credit

July 1st 1:00pm - 10:30pm

What to expect: Who doesn’t love a parade? Combine that with performances by the Mississauga Pops Orchestra, the City of Mississauga Dance Program, and local artists and musicians, you’ll find that this Port Credit festival has something for everyone. Come for the cake at 12:30, and stay for the fireworks at 10:00 - we know you’ll find plenty to do in between!

Streetsville Canada Day Celebrations

July 1st

What to expect: Starting with a Flag Raising Ceremony and ending with a fireworks show set to the music of the Tragically Hip in honour of the late Gord Downie, Streetsville’s annual Canada Day fest will be sure to touch the heart of any true Canadian.You’ll also find, crafts, games, live entertainment, raffle, and lots more!

Canada Day at the Living Arts Centre

What to expect: Prepare to be awed by local music, art, and theatre followed by games, artists’ demonstrations and a barbecue on the patio. A feast for all your senses!

Celebration at Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park

July 1st 6:00pm - 10:30pm

Cost: FREE

What to expect: What do food trucks, a live jazz band, and face painters have in common? They’ll all be at the Pavillion at the Pier at Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park on Canada Day! The evening of fun will feature the national anthem performed by local youthMaya Borg and will culminate in a fireworks display. Bring a blanket and get there early - you can take a shuttle running from Bronte GO for $3.00 per person!

Burlington

Celebration at Spencer Smith Park

July 1st 12:00pm - 10:30pm

Cost: FREE

What to expect: Canada has many faces and flavours, and Burlington’s Canada Day celebration will be sure to please each one! Whether you go for the citizenship ceremony, do a 5k run, watch stilt walkers or see the Scholars in Collars dog show, you’ll find each aspect uniquely Canadian. Make sure to catch the Citizenship Ceremony at the gazebo in the park, and don’t miss the fireworks over the lake!

What to expect: Start off with a breakfast with our Veterans, and spend the rest of the day on fun and games! With a bouncy castle, a giant sand pit, and a hands-on exotic animals display, you’ll bealmosttoo exhausted for fireworks at 10:00!

Celebration at Bayfront and Pier 4 Parks

July 1st 12:00pm - 10:30pm

What to expect: Canada Day in Hamilton is a music lover’s paradise, featuring performances by Dear Rouge, Wolf Saga, and The Redhill Valleys. The fireworks show will even be set to rock music! You’ll also find family games and activities, food trucks, and a shuttle service to get you there and back again.

Toronto/GTA

Celebration at Queen’s Park

July 1st 10:00am - 5:00pm

Cost: FREE

What to expect: Since 1967, Canada Day at Queen’s Park is one of Toronto’s longest held traditions and one of its best kept secrets. The official opening ceremony and 21 gun salute begins at 12:00pm, but activities for the whole family including roaming performers, arts and crafts, and face painting will be going on throughout the day!

Celebration at Canada’s Wonderland

June 30th - July 31st

Cost: regular park admission

What to expect: Known for being over-the-top, Canada’s Wonderland has outdone itself with this year’s month-long Canada Day celebration! Visit the park at any point between June 30th to July 31st for food stations serving up variations on traditional Canadian favourites, a lumberjack competition, live performances and of course a fireworks show on July 1st at 10:00pm!
